The 70mm, 3" STD and 3" HD clamps are similar in size.  You can tell the design series apart by these features:
1.  The body of the chuck of the 70mm measures 2.694" diameter and there are 8 leaves on the outside (leaves are the gold portion of the chuck the go up and down when inflated and deflated)
2.  The body of the chuck of the 3" STD series measures 2.937" diameter and there are 8 leaves on the outside (leaves are the gold portion of the chuck the go up and down when inflated and deflated)
3.  The body of the chuck of the 3" HD series measures 2.937" diameter and there are 6 leaves on the outside (leaves are the gold portion of the chuck the go up and down when inflated and deflated)
