How do core chucks & core shafts work?
Last Updated: 04/07/2007
All core chucks & core shafts rely on the same principle of expanding to create friction between the core and the gripping device (core chuck).  The core chucks are expanded either by compressed air via a rubber bladder, hand turning or self-actuation.  By holding the core a machine can unwind or rewind web material.  An example of web material is the tape in duct tape.
